Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 September 2026.

Aaron Burgess operates Calibrate My Inner Compass in New Zealand and is the contact for privacy matters. This policy describes personal information collected through this website, its checkout and support channels. Contact support@calibratemyinnercompass.com with privacy questions or requests.

Information collected and why

When you purchase, the store collects the contact and billing information requested at checkout, including your name, email address, country, city and postal code, together with order details, payment status and transaction references. This information is used to process your order, provide downloads and receipts, answer purchase questions, handle refunds, prevent fraud and maintain business records.

When you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, message and any other information you choose to provide. We use it to respond and resolve your enquiry. Please avoid sending sensitive personal histories, completed journals or payment-card details when they are not needed to answer your question.

The site and its service providers also process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, pages requested and security or download logs. This supports site operation, security, troubleshooting and understanding how visitors use the site.

Required checkout and contact-form fields are identified on the form. Providing information is voluntary, but without the required details we may be unable to complete a purchase, deliver a receipt or reply to you.

Payments and service providers

Stripe and PayPal process payments and may collect payment details directly from you. We receive information needed to administer the order, such as whether payment succeeded and the transaction reference. Their own privacy notices describe their handling of payment information.

We use Hostinger for website hosting and email, WordPress and Easy Digital Downloads to operate the store, Google Analytics through Site Kit to understand website use, and tools for spam protection, security and backups. Service providers may process information relevant to those functions. Where necessary, information may also be provided to professional advisers or authorities to meet legal obligations or resolve a dispute.

These services may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where the Privacy Act requires safeguards for an overseas disclosure, we must take steps to ensure the required protection.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses cookies and similar browser storage for functions such as the shopping cart, sessions and website analytics. Google Analytics can collect information about visits, device/browser characteristics, referral sources and interactions with the site, using identifiers such as cookies.

You can manage or remove cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect checkout or other site functions. Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics. These browser controls do not delete order records already held by the store.

We will update this policy if we introduce additional advertising or tracking tools. Where consent is required for non-essential tracking, it must be obtained before that tracking is used.

Your workbook and messages

Writing in a downloaded workbook does not send your entries back to us. If you choose to send us an entry or personal story, it becomes part of the information you have shared with us. We will ask for permission before publishing a private message or using it as a testimonial.

Keeping information

Information is kept for as long as needed for the purpose for which it may lawfully be used, including purchase support, accounting obligations, security and resolving disputes. Some information may remain in backups until those backups are replaced or expire.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss and unauthorised access, use or disclosure. No website or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your access, correction and other requests

You can ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access, or ask us to correct it by emailing support@calibratemyinnercompass.com. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information. You may also request deletion; we will explain if information must be retained for a lawful purpose.

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You can also contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
